Pre-Treatment Setup:
Prepare the Room: Ensure the treatment room is clean, well-lit, and organized. Restrict access during operation. Post appropriate warning signs on the door.
Prepare the Machine:
Power on the main unit and the cooling system
Allow the machine to initialize and perform any self-checks
Connect the appropriate handpiece for the treatment area (spot size). Ensure the tip is clean and undamaged.
Set the chilled air/cooling system to the desired level for client comfort and skin protection.
Prepare the Client:
Confirm signed consent forms
Cleanse the treatment area thoroughly to remove makeup, lotions, oils, or deodorant. Shave the area meticulously 12-24 hours prior (hair should be visible just below the skin surface, not above). NEVER wax, pluck, or thread before treatment.
Provide client protective eyewear and ensure a snug fit. Explain they must keep them on until told otherwise.
Position the client comfortably, ensuring easy access to the treatment area. Protect clothing with drapes.
Apply a thin layer of clear, ultrasound gel or specialized cooling gel to the treatment area. This enhances light transmission and skin contact.
Set Treatment Parameters: Based on the client's skin type, hair color/coarseness, treatment area, and patch test results, set the machine parameters:
Fluence (Joules/cm²): Energy density - Start LOW and gradually increase based on tolerance and efficacy.
Repetition Rate (Hz): Pulses per second. Adjust for efficient coverage without overheating the skin.
Spot Size (mm): Size of the laser beam. Larger spots penetrate deeper and cover faster but may be less comfortable on small areas. Select the appropriate handpiece.
Skin Cooling: Set the contact cooling tip temperature and/or chilled air level.
